Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

Below are some of the programs offered at the Wyoming County YMCA:


 Project Play is an adapted skill building program for children with disabilities.  Once a week, students are paired with an adult "buddy" for two hours to build skills in the gym and in the pool.  Skill building is determined by the needs of each individual child and their parents/guardians.

YOUTH BOOT CAMP is a boot camp for kids!  participants go through stations that include agility, strength, flexibility, aerobic training and fun.  Class is developed so that kids experience good exercise while having fun and helping them feel good about themselves.  Look for activities based on the American Gladiator game show, station work, and fitness challenges.

Youth Fitness Youth Fitness Class is a course designed to prepare 12-14 year olds in the proper way to use the Wellness Center.  The class teaches youth about basic anatomy and physiology, the importance of all segments of working out (warm-up, stretching, cardiovascular and strength training and cool down), how to use the Wellness Center equipment, other ideas for working out and sets them up for a work-out program to begin with. 

Whiffle Ball for ages 4-6.  Not ready for T-ball, but want to learn the basics of baseball in a less competitive atmosphere? Join us for a session of whiffle ball.  Gloves welcome, but not necessary.  Each session will include a period of skills practice followed by fun games.

Tae Kwon Do is back!  This is for ages 5 and older.  This program combines exercise with combat and self defense skills.
